In order to make access to public transportation safer and more convenient, a gateway bridge above Interstate-8 solely for the use of bicyclists and pedestrians is proposed. This new connection is required to provide pedestrians with a safe mode of travel to the nearest trolley station while simultaneously ensuring a sustainable design for future maintenance. The project will require proper road clearance above all roads it crosses (I-8, Parkway Dr., and Alvarado Rd.), ADA compliant elevators, ramps and management of construction.
