Whitacre College of Engineering Junior Engineering Clubs allow 5th grade students to explore different fields of engineering, engage in real world, hands-on STEM activities, receive mentoring, and experience Texas Tech University culture. Junior Engineering clubs work to help each club member build self-efficacy in their abilities through the attainment of new knowledge and skills related to STEM. Offered at no cost to participating schools, clubs meet afterschool once a week to educate and cultivate an interest in STEM education. Their time is focused on engineering fields of study and career pathways. Everything culminates in a student STEM expo, allowing club members to showcase what they have learned throughout their time as a junior engineer. Since their start in 2018, the Whitacre College of Engineering Junior Engineering Clubs have served hundreds of students.
